Reminder – Upcoming Champlin Foundation Proposal Request

Again this year, the Provost will be requesting the leadership of the Champlin Foundations to consider proposals from the University.  Below is included some of the guidelines from the Champlin Announcement Memo. Further details on proposal development and a timeline for proposal submission, review, and selection will be provided at a later date.

The Office of the Provost’s internal process will be similar to previous years.

Champlin has a clear set of parameters that guide their proposal review and selection. They provide funding largely for capital equipment, especially equipment that will promote student learning. In particular, please note the following:

  • they will not provide support to repair or replace old equipment;
  • they are interested in sophisticated equipment that promotes meaningful learning for students and will enhance their competitive status in the workplace;
  • the projects must impact a large number of students;
  • project funds must be expended during the one-year period following the award;
  • as an added bonus: projects have the potential to improve the quality of life for Rhode Islanders

Thank you for your attention to this early reminder.
