Biography

Dr. Brittany Martin received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Georgia. Her research and teaching interests include criminal legal policy, punishment and society, criminal law, gender and crime, and research methods. In her research, Dr. Martin examines criminal law and the legal system’s impact on social inequity, exploring multiple forms of punishment, such as legal financial obligations and collateral sanctions policies. She has a strong commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching.
