Casey McGregor

Biography

Dr. Casey McGregor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDF). She holds a Ph.D. in HDF from Virginia Tech.

Dr. McGregor’s work focuses on the influence of broader societal parenting ideologies on family wellbeing and development. Currently, Dr. McGregor’s research focuses on understanding the associations amongst intensive mothering attitudes, parenting behaviors and stress, and young children’s social-emotional development in families across the socioeconomic spectrum.

In her teaching, Dr. McGregor uses several approaches to pedagogy to promote active learning. Her favorite subjects to teach include parenting, child development, and family relationships.
