Biography

Dr. Yu earned his Ph.D. in statistics from Iowa State University. His current research focuses on non-parametric inference tools, bootstrap (resampling, subsampling), and empirical likelihood. His goal is to develop user-friendly as well as theoretically compact statistical methods. Besides non-parametric inference, he also has a broad interest in other statistical problems, including time series and spatial data, change-point problems, model assessment, etc. He is glad to share the beauty of statistics with students, especially regarding statistical theory. During his leisure time, he likes playing video games and swimming.
