Biography

Dr. Kristy Lewis is a biological oceanographer using geospatial, statistical, and ecosystem modeling approaches to investigate how global change impacts marine food webs and the coastal communities who live there. She received her PhD from Louisiana State University in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at George Mason University with Dr. Kim De Mutsert where she developed geospatial ecosystem models to support state and federal restoration initiatives in southern Louisiana. She was faculty at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, prior to her most recent appointment at the University of Central Florida’s National Center for Integrated Coastal Research.
