Biography
Karen is a doctoral student from Syria in the Behavioral Sciences PhD program. Before coming to URI, she was a research scientist at Brown University. Karen received her BAs in Psychology, Philosophy, and Cognitive Sciences from University of Massachusetts Boston. As an undergraduate, Karen trained in a lab known for its evolutionary approach.
Research
Her research interests encompass examining mental illness and health from a cultural and evolutionary perspective. Karen aims to challenge the medical model with her research
