Biography

Catherine is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to her time at URI, she worked as a clinical research assistant in the Division of Alcohol, Drugs, and Addiction at McLean Hospital. Catherine completed her B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019 and her M.A. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2023.

Research

Catherine’s research interests focus on strengths-based approaches to studying substance use. She is interested in protective factors that may buffer against the consequences of using substances. Her F31 from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) examines how alternative reinforcers and feelings of happiness may predict alcohol and cannabis use/consequences over time.
