Biography

Georgette is a first-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to beginning her studies at URI, Georgette served as a clinical research assistant at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, where she worked with the psychiatric department within Hasbro Children’s Hospital to recruit adolescents for various research studies. Georgette holds a B.S. in psychology from Louisiana State University.

Research

Georgette’s research explores how family, community, and structural factors shape parenting behaviors and child socioemotional and biological development, with a specific focus on the mechanisms that foster resilience in the face of adversity. Ultimately, she aims to leverage this knowledge to inform interventions that are both evidence-based and contextually feasible for families navigating significant challenges.
