Biography
Karen is a first year doctoral student from Syria in the Behavioral Sciences PhD program. Before coming to URI, she was a research scientist at Brown University, working on a project that examined cannabis messaging. Karen received her BAs in psychology, philosophy, and cognitive sciences from University of Massachusetts Boston.
Research
Her research interests encompass examining mental illness and health from a cultural and evolutionary perspective. Karen aims to challenge the medical model with her research
