Biography
Natalie Chasten is a first-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program under the mentorship of Dr. Jillian Scheer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Rhode Island. Before joining the MST Lab as a graduate student, she worked as a post-baccalaureate research assistant in Dr. Scheer’s Minority Stress and Trauma Lab and Dr. Nicole Weiss’s STRESS Lab on various projects focused on trauma, substance use, and the impacts of chronic stress on underserved populations.
Research
Natalie’s research interests focus on gender-based discrimination, reproductive health, and substance use as a means to cope with untreated pain and chronic stress.
