Sydney Iacoi

Biography

Sydney is a first-year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to attending URI, she worked as a senior clinical research assistant at Butler Hospital/Alpert Medical School of Brown University in the Behavioral Medicine and Addictions Research Department. Sydney graduated from Emmanuel College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

Research

Her research interests lie in the testing and evaluation of cognitive deficits in individuals with substance use disorders. Specifically, the investigation of how substances affect one’s executive functioning and memory processes while keeping in mind the social determinants of health in underrepresented communities.
