Lyn Stein, PhD
The Substance Treatment Research, Implementation/ Dissemination, and Evaluation (STRIDE) Lab is directed by Dr. Lyn Stein in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island (URI). Research in the STRIDE Lab is funded by various grants such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
The STRIDE lab has a substantive history in studying motivation to change along with substance abuse and other risky behaviors in under-served populations, particularly in juvenile correctional and community health settings. Currently the lab is involved in multiple projects evaluating assessment and treatment of adults/ adolescents/ families with serious co-occurring disorders and substance use problems found in community, academic, medical and correctional settings as well as systems uptake of evidence-based practices (EBPs) and fidelity to those practices. The lab is also involved in implementation science research with the objective to improve linkage to evidence-based care for justice-involved individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
For more details about the present work of the lab, see Current Projects.
The STRIDE Lab is located at 130 Flagg Road at the URI’s Kingston Campus.
