Biography

Alyssa V. Boss is the General Counsel at the University of Rhode Island.  She is an attorney admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and has practiced both as a partner in law firms and in-house as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Care New England Health System where she worked for 13 years.  Prior to joining URI in 2021, Alyssa was a partner at Cameron & Mittleman LLP focused on corporate law, finance, health care and nonprofits.  Prior to that she was at Care New England and before that she was a partner in the corporate department at Hinckley Allen & Snyder LLP where she focused on corporate and business law, major transactions and bond financing. 

Alyssa completed her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law as valedictorian in 1997.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Rhode Island.
