Working with Rhody Outpost gives you an opportunity to strengthen support networks for those in need. The pantry operates on limited funds and on donations, and we rely heavily on volunteers to coordinate and staff the pantry. We welcome your support!
Please note: Rhody Outpost does not accept court mandated service.
What will I do as a volunteer?
Volunteers will:
- Greet and serve guests
- Re-stock shelves as needed
- Pick up donations at specific locations
What are the requirements?
No experience is necessary, volunteers will be trained on pantry procedures. The main requirements are that you:
- Are available once a week for a whole semester or academic year
- Focus on the needs of the guests and make them feel welcome
- Minimize your cell phone use while working
How can I become a volunteer?
Our volunteer program is currently FULL! We are always looking for individual students or student/community groups to help solicit donations and to raise funds.
