Abstract Guidelines

  • Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words. Students should have their abstract approved by their faculty mentor prior to submission.
  • For examples of previous abstracts, click HERE.
    • note: you do not need to format your abstract like these examples…you will be asked to submit all the details and the abstract will be formatted for you
  • Submit one abstract per poster…NOT one abstract per student!
  • Submit your abstract online

Poster Guidelines

  • Posters should be 36 x 48 inches (landscape or portrait orientation are allowable)
  • Students should have their abstract approved by their faculty mentor prior to submission.
  • Options for Making Posters: (1) Microsoft PowerPoint, (2) Biorender, (3) Google Slides
  • RI-INBRE SURF students must include appropriate logo(s) and acknowledgements on your poster.
    • RI-INBRE Acknowledgement: “Research reported in this poster was supported by the Rhode Island Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Network of Biomedical Research Excellence from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under grant number P20GM103430.”
