v-NERIC Lightning Talk Format and Upload Information
Information on the format for lightning talk slides and upload information is below. Contact the Session Chair Dr. Samantha Meenach (smeenach@uri.edu) with questions.
Formatting: Your slides need to follow these formatting guidelines in order to work using the virtual conference platform:
- Title slide: Include your talk title, name, and affiliation
- 16:9 aspect ratio
- Three slides only
- No video or animation (presentation should be static)

Upload
Upload your lightning talk PowerPoint slides by Tuesday, August 3rd, via the link below. Please note that the slides you upload need to be the final version of your presentation as you will not have the option to change them after submission (see info below).
Session Instructions
MetroConnections (MC) will be running the virtual conference platform and will be controlling the slides for the Lightning Talk Sessions, thus presenters will not be able to update slides prior to the conference or use the pointer option during the presentation. Each session will have a moderator to introduce each speaker and a tech from MC will switch the slides for presenters. The 3-minute limit will be strictly enforced and speakers will be muted shortly after this time.
The Lightning Talk Sessions will be on Tuesday, August 17th from 1:00 – 4:00pm EST and are organized into the general sessions and times below. Please note that there are two assignment tabs – one organized by sessions and the other organized by last name. The abstracts will be posted on the official MC website soon.
