Rhode Island NSF Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) funded 34 college and university students from across the state as part of the 2013 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program.
The 10-week research projects, carried out under the guidance of faculty members, culminates with a poster presentation. Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR collaborates with Rhode Island IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE) to sponsor the annual SURF Conference, which showcases the students’ work.
The University of Rhode Island hosted the conference Aug. 2 at the College of Pharmacy building and Center for Biotechnology & Life Sciences. This abstract book offers a look at all of the research projects that took place this summer and were presented at the conference.
