Research: I am interested in development and reproduction in the sea star, Patiria miniata. Animals use diverse mechanisms to set aside their germ cells (eggs and sperm) during their life cycles. Therefore, understanding the molecular mechanisms of how germ cell cells are set aside in marine organisms will aid in future research studying how environment may affect the natural processes involved in reproduction.
