Microbes in Narragansett Bay are subject to extreme changes in salinity, temperature and nutrients. The goals of our project are to gain a broader understanding of the roles that microbiomes play in the growth, productivity and resistance to disease in ecologically important marine organisms in Narragansett Bay. This project includes identifying host-associated core microbiomes and importantly understanding the variability of microbiome compositions under
perturbation.
