In Year 5, RI C-AIM’s annual All-Hands Meeting continues the conversation on how our community can best foster a diverse and inclusive research environment. We will also highlight the past year’s research success through Soundbites presentations, as well as discuss closing out our grant program with an eye towards the next proposal. 

 

Important Dates

  • Friday, Oct. 8 – Last day to register to give a Soundbite presentation 
  • Friday, Oct. 15 – Single-slide Soundbite Presentations due to Shaun Kirby, RI C-AIM Communications & Outreach Coordinator, via Google Drive (link will be provided via email)
  • Friday, Oct. 22 – Last day to register for attending the All-Hands Meeting. 

Allyship in STEM

Dr. Kendall Moore, professor of journalism at URI’s Harrington School of Communication and Media, will present her latest documentary on allyship in STEM fields and also lead a post-showing discussion with the RI C-AIM community. Breakout Discussions

Breakout sessions provide RI C-AIM investigators the opportunity to share their research experiences and discuss the overall progress of our five-year grant.
Breakout Discussions: Year 5 – What does success look like?

  1. How not to get lost as a cog in major projects: The challenges of team science. Led by Jason Dwyer.
  2. What does a “Smart Bay” look like and what is C-AIM’s role? Led by Lew Rothstein and Baylor Fox-Kemper.
  3. Unanswered questions and new opportunities: Bay, estuary, and land. Led by Bethany Jenkins and Tatiana Rynearson.
