RI Water Resources Virtual Forum, Monday, September 13
The Rhode Island Water Resources (RIWRC), through its 104b Annual Base Grants Program, is requesting proposals for the 2022 funding cycle. The center supports freshwater (including estuaries) and drinking water-related research to challenges that Rhode Island is currently facing. All universities and colleges in Rhode Island are invited to submit a pre-proposal through our annual solicitation process. The RIWRC pre-proposal process will determine the projects invited to submit a full proposal submission.
Those interested in submitting proposals are strongly encouraged to participate in a RI Water Resources Virtual Forum on September 13th 9 am-11:30 am. During the forum, RI state agencies will be presenting on their research needs, and participants will be able to ask questions to the panelist. To participate, please fill this form (https://forms.gle/NVcj5kejufpmeEz46) and login information will be sent to you by the end of this week.
The available funding for each proposal is up to $25,000 and is expected to support 3-5 proposals (pending of funds received from USGS). There is a 2:1 match (match/request) requirement on the award. The match can only be met with non-federal funds.
The tentative proposal schedule is as follows:
· Pre-proposals due to RIWRC: 5:00 PM on September 30th, 2021 (https://web.uri.edu/riwrc/pre-proposals/)
· Executive Committee revises pre-proposal, and full proposal invitations announced: October 7th, 2021
· Invited full proposals due: November 15th, 2021
· Full proposals sent out for external technical reviews: November 16th, 2021
· Full proposals evaluated and selected for submission to USGS during the RIWRC Advisory Board meeting: December 22nd, 2021 (tentative)
