ABM in Labor Relations and Human Resources

Admission

Students are eligible to apply for the ABM program after they have completed 75 credits in their undergraduate program. Students can start taking courses that will be double counted towards their ABM after they have completed 90 credits. Student status will officially be moved from undergraduate to graduate enrollment after completing and conferring their undergraduate degree.

Applicants with undergraduate majors in any field will be considered for admission. The four courses to be double counted must be approved by the Program Director during the admission process and approved by the students’ academic advisor.

Applicants should have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and must interview with the program director. Applicants must submit:

  • a statement of purpose;
  • a proposal listing the two 400 level courses to be counted from their B.A./B.S. program of study and an explanation how LHR 500 or LHR 531 will fit into their undergraduate program of study as electives;
  • two letters of recommendation from faculty; and
  • Interview with the Program Director, after a completed application has been submitted and received.

NOTE: Students must complete all degree requirements for the ABM within two years after enrollment. An additional year may be allowed with the permission of the Graduate School. Failure to complete the ABM in the allotted time effectively ends the ABM and the students will not be able to double count credits.
