Biography

My name is Dan Kowalsky, I am an integrated BS/MS student in Systems Engineering at The University of Rhode Island. My interest in Systems Engineering is rooted in my constant obsession for improvement. Some of the fields from Systems Engineering that interest me the most are operations research, statistical analysis, machine learning, and sustainability. My research interests are to use these disciplines to make improvements to the physical world. I am currently working on my Master’s Thesis about optimally routing electric vehicles to points of interest and using charge stations to recharge when needed and when station capacity is available. My goal for the outcome of this research is to provide EV drivers with a way to drive their cars to minimize electricity usage through route selection.
