Hello! My name is Nancy Alvarez and I’m currently a junior majoring in Industrial & Systems Engineering with a Spanish minor. While some fundamental ISE concepts such as LEAN manufacturing, logistics, and optimization, form part of my professional interests, I have always put humanistic values as a top priority.

As a result, I will be assisting graduate student, Nicholas Bernardo, with his research, in collaboration with the Rhode Island Board of Elections, which focuses on determining the efficacy of translated voting ballots versus bilingual voting ballots. The goal of this project is to better serve the Spanish-speaking population in Rhode Island in hopes to implement the most appropriate voting ballot.

Some of my favorite hobbies include working out, reading, hiking, and spending time with my family.
