Biography

Hi, my name is Claudia Smith and I am a junior studying Physics and Mathematics at the College of William and Mary. I began working with the Sustainable Innovative Solutions (SIS) Lab and URI VOTES teams during the summer of 2022. I am from Rhode Island and I found out about the SIS Lab in my search for an engineering internship that incorporated environmentalism and social justice. As part of the team, I am mainly working on the URI VOTES and SIS Lab websites, adding new pages for research, tools, and outreach. I am also creating a solar panel tutorial and helped organize activities for the Global Envirotech, Inc. Conference. Additionally, this internship has provided the opportunity for me to learn about simulations and improve my data analysis skills in R.

At William and Mary, I am president of the Women in STEM organization and play club volleyball.
