Biography

Hi! My name is Ana and I am in the final stretch of concluding a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University of Navarra (Spain), a multidisciplinary program whose subjects belong to the fields of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and management engineering. The last six months consist of developing a Masters Thesis. I was willing to immerse myself in a different concept of learning and that is where URI came into play, specifically the SIS Lab.

When it comes to research, I had focused during my degree in the optimization of manufacturing processes and structural calculations, but I felt my human perspective was missing. For this reason, I decided to carry out a healthcare project without setting my technical profile aside. My project will complement Rachel Bartels Master’s Thesis about the redesigning process of the breast pumps, optimizing the product around how users can, how users want, or how users need to use the product, rather than forcing them to change their behavior to accommodate the product.
