Purpose: To understand how solar cookers work.

Target Grades: 6-12

Activity: Students will either construct a predesigned solar cooker or design their own through a competition style activity. They will test the effectiveness of their designs by temperature, in a specified time.

Suggested Materials:
– Cardboard
– Reflective materials (aluminum foil, mirrors)
– Thermometer
– Bottle of water
