It is the practice of the Office of Small Projects to receive new project assignments through the Facilities Group AVP (via the Control Center work order system), then appoint project managers whose first objective is to set up the initial scope meeting within 2 to 3 weeks of receipt.

In order to fully maximize our resources, projects aren’t always queued in order of receipt.  There are times when it is fiscally responsible to schedule projects with similar tasks at the same time to procure more reasonable and attractive bids from our MPA contractors.

Other factors taken into consideration when prioritizing projects:

  • code violations
  • life safety concerns
  • level of complexity
  • client’s schedule constraints
  • conflicts with other projects
  • resource challenges

Every project is unique.  Upon project intake, the assigned Project Manager will transform the client’s vision into a real project.   We will facilitate and manage every step from design concept to implementation and construction, guiding the client through the entire project process from start to finish.   Our highly skilled team is dedicated to provide excellent customer service to the University community with continuity, consistency and accountability.
