Financial Aid

To find out more information about financing your education, please visit the Office of Enrollment Services.

FAFSA

Financial aid awards (state and federal student grants, loans, and work-study) are based upon a demonstrated financial need. TD applicants must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their eligibility for financial assistance.

If IRS tax forms have not been filed, prospective students should provide estimates on the FAFSA, which can be corrected later. In addition, please be advised that some financial aid providers prioritize their awards according to a March 1 filing deadline.

URI’s Office of Enrollment Services awards each student financial aid after an analysis of eligibility. The earlier students file the FAFSA, the better the financial aid package may be. Signed copies of parent(s)/guardian(s) and student tax forms and other documents may be required to finalize the student’s award.

For help with filing the FAFSA, students may contact their guidance office. In addition, the RI Educational Opportunity Center (401-455-6028) and the College Planning Center of Rhode Island (401-736-3170) provide assistance with the online submission of the FAFSA.
