FALL Productions
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE directed by Sophia Blum
TWO BY TWO (an evening of two one-act plays) featuring FREE RANGE CHICKENS directed by Kenneth Dunn and THE DUMB WAITER directed by Brandon Tallardy.
Auditions are Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3 from 7-10:00 pm.
Auditions will be held in J-studio and actors will sign up for one 5-minute time slot to perform their monologues for both plays in one time slot.
For a time slot, please sign up on the sheets outside of the main office or contact the main office to schedule a time slot. (401-874-5921). Time slot sheets will be posted one week before the auditions. If you can, please fill the Tuesday slots first, as we want to leave space on Wednesday for those students who are unable to audition on Tuesday, due to conflicts.
Audition Requirements for Pride and Prejudice
- Please prepare and memorize a 1–2-minute comedic monologue from a period piece.
- Playwright Suggestions: Moliere or David Ives… just not Shakespeare
- Pick a monologue that attacks comedy in a slightly heightened world
- Actors may be cast in more than one role; open consideration of gender when casting
Callbacks for Pride and Prejudice: Friday, September 5 from 6-10 pm.
First rehearsal for Pride and Prejudice: Sunday, September 7 from 1-5 pm.
Audition requirements for Two by Two: Free Range Chickens and The Dumb Waiter
- Please prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic or dark comedic monologue that showcases your range and understanding of language/subtext.
Callbacks for Two by Two: Thursday, September 4 from 6-10pm
First Rehearsal for Free Range Chickens and The Dumb Waiter: Saturday, October 18, 12-5pm
SPRING Productions
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM directed by Tracy Liz Miller
RIDE THE CYCLONE directed by Rachel Walshe
Auditions for both productions are Saturday, December 6 from 12-4pm & Monday, December 8 from 6-10pm.
Callbacks for Midsummer are Wednesday, December 10 from 6-10pm and Callbacks for Cyclone are Thursday, December 11.
Audition Requirements: TBA
First Rehearsal for A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Saturday, December 13 from 12-5pm
First Rehearsal for Ride the Cyclone: TBA Saturday, February 28 12-4pm
