URI Counseling Center — 401-874-2288 — Teletherapy appointments available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The University also provides a 24-hour service year-round through ProtoCall, a leading provider of specialty telephone behavioral health services, which students can access by calling the URI Counseling Center at 401-874-2288. When students have a mental health concern or crisis, they can call the center’s main number, day or night seven days a week, whether the center is open or closed.

    • For emergency mental health care, you can also go directly to your local VA medical center 24/7 regardless of your discharge status or enrollment in other VA health care.
  • Vet CentersDiscuss how you feel with other Veterans in these community-based counseling centers. 70% of Vet Center staff are Veterans. Call 1-877-927-8387 or find one near you.
