Hydro-systems and Water Quality Research

We study the upstream and downstream linkages focusing on hydrology, source water protection, solute transport, watersheds, streams, and groundwater.

Our research focuses on source water protection studies, the effectiveness of agricultural and urban best management practices, surface and groundwater quality, application of high-frequency sensors for water quality measurements, watershed, reservoir and systems modeling, and drinking water treatment precursors and disinfection by-product formation potentials.

We conduct field, lab experiments/monitoring, and numerical and physical modeling studies to uncover new knowledge about how natural and human-altered systems function and how they respond to change.
