Adoption Assistance and Information

Adoptive Families Magazine, the award-winning national adoption magazine, is the leading adoption information source for families before, during, and after adoption.

The Rhode Island Partnership for Family Connections is a partnership of organizations devoted to supporting kinship caregivers.

National Adoption Center expands adoption opportunities for children living in foster care throughout the United States, and is a resource to families and to agencies who seek the permanency of caring homes for children.

State Adoption Information Websites includes website links to adoption information provided by State child welfare agencies in all 50 States and the District of Columbia. Links to State adoption information in Spanish are provided when available.

Administration for Children & Families (ACF) is a federal agency funding state, territory, local, and tribal organizations to provide family assistance (welfare), child support, child care, Head Start, child welfare, and other programs relating to children and families.


Adoption Rhode Island

Adoption RI Adoption Rhode Island’s Mission is to facilitate the permanent placement of children waiting in state care and promote adoption as a positive way to create a family. We provide pre and post adoption services to families, advocate for public policy to promote a child’s right to a safe environment and a permanent family, and increase public awareness of the unmet needs of these children.

Department of Children, Youth, and Families Placement. The goal of DCYF’s Special Needs Adoption Program is to provide permanent families for children who have become freed for adoption within the state’s substitute child care system.
