General Education Committee

This committee shall study and make recommendations to the Faculty Senate regarding the establishment, modification or abolition of General Education requirements for graduation to be applicable to degree candidates; consider other programs pertaining to the General Education Program and evaluate the effectiveness of the program; maintain liaison with the Curricular Affairs Committee and the Academic Standards and Calendar Committee for mutual information and joint action, and with the University administration for effective implementation of approved recommendations. By-Laws 4.65-4.69UMAN 8.20.25

November 2, 2017 (proposal submission deadline: Oct. 19)
November 30, 2017 (proposal submission deadline: Nov. 16)
February 1, 2018 (proposal submission deadline: Jan. 18)
March 1, 2018 (proposal submission deadline: Feb. 15)
April 5, 2018 (proposal submission deadline: Mar. 22)

NOTE: Deadlines apply only to proposals for existing courses to qualify in new General Education Program.  Deadlines for proposals for new General Education courses or General Education course changes can be found on the Curricular Affairs Committee webpage.

Meeting the deadline for a course to be included on a review committee agenda does not ensure that the course will be approved at that particular meeting.  Revisions might be required that will move approval of the proposal to a subsequent meeting.
