Aislyne Calianos, an undergraduate student in the Marine Affairs department, was recently accepted to the Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport with a full scholarship for the Fall 2015 semester. The Williams-Mystic program, based in Mystic, Connecticut, offers a unique opportunity for students to take interdisciplinary courses that focus on various aspects of Maritime Studies. Additionally, students participate in original research opportunities, and in three extended field seminars throughout the semester. “I am very excited to spend the fall semester with the Williams-Mystic program! The Williams-Mystic program provides students with the unique and valuable opportunity to study a combination of the marine sciences and liberal arts, while traveling along three different US coastlines.” This fall, students enrolled in the Williams-Mystic program will be traveling to the Great Lakes, the California Coastline, and the Mississippi Delta.
