The Energy Balance Lab focuses on various factors that may influence energy balance in humans, and how it relates to diet, physical activity, health, body weight management, chronic disease prevention, and well being. Particular areas of research interest include macronutrient metabolism (especially carbohydrate), appetite, dietary quality, exercise, and eating behaviors. Of importance is investigating causes and consequences of inter-individual variability in metabolic regulation, phenotypic responses, and energy balance.
