Student Learning Goals & Outcomes

Students will be able to:

1. Articulate appropriate content knowledge in the field of nutrition.

a. Define key terms in the field using existing scholarship.

b. Demonstrate knowledge in core principles of nutritional science.

 

2. Demonstrate ability to complete high quality research common to the field of nutrition.

a. Demonstrate facility with critical use of scientific information.

b. Apply scientific methods to complete research.

c. Evaluate statistical procedures (describe quantitative or qualitative data, discern patterns and trends in data, and/or perform inferential tests of hypotheses).

 

3. Exhibit professional communication skills appropriate to the field of nutrition.

a. Effectively communicate, in an oral format, scientific solutions/evidence-based care to multiple audiences including the public, decision-makers, stakeholders, and scientists.

b. Effectively communicate, in a written format, scientific solutions/evidence-based care to multiple audiences including the public, decision-makers, stakeholders, and scientists.
