(3-Day Introduction – 2016)
I am currently working as an Americorps teacher at an after school program for low-income, elementary aged Latino youth. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela but grew up in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Growing up I spent summers and winter breaks in Venezuela and have witnessed it slowly deteriorate into the violence ridden country that it is today. I studied economics at the University of Colorado and hope to use my university education, my experience teaching, my work with disadvantaged communities, and the summer institute training to help make Venezuela, the US, and other countries more peaceful. There is a great legacy of incredible activists that have gone through the summer institute training and I’m eager to join the ranks of these inspiring people!
