I am from Nashville, TN, retired after working in the criminal justice area for many years. My interest in civil rights began in 1960 when the sit-ins started in Nashville and I remember thinking how brilliant they were to not fight violence with more violence. I always wanted to know more about how nonviolence works. I met Bernard LaFayette in 1990 and began to learn. Now I have time for more advanced training and could not be more delighted about it. I plan to team with Carolyn Hughes and others to start a Kingian Nonviolence Center in Nashville with a goal of getting nonviolence programs into the school system.
