Recent Alum Takes On Summer Internship Opportunity

The Talent Development Program would like to acknowledge recent graduate Andres Brito for his successful completion of his internship with Team USA FLAME. As a result of the program he was able to meet with Team USA executives and he attended workshops and networked with various people in the sports industry. Through this opportunity he was also able to work on a project for a USA national governing body to help increase diversity and inclusion within their sports.

Below he is pictured with John Carlos, best known from his success and protest at the 1968 Olympics. The civil unrest within our country during 1968, particularly the assassination of Dr. King, is what started the Talent Development Program here at URI. As a program, we recognize both Andres’ great work and the historical importance of the sacrifices made my men such a John Carlos and Tommie Smith. To you all, our respect and appreciation goes. Andres Brito 2
