The purpose of record books:
4-H Record Books serve a variety of purposes in the Rhode Island 4-H Youth Development Program.
- 4-H Record Books give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work. They document their skill development, achievement, growth and their learning experiences in a written report.
- 4-H Record Books encourage members to set goals and develop plans to meet those goals. Awards for record books provides incentive for participation, learning, and achievement.
- Recording and completing records teaches youth how to complete written forms and present there data in an accurate clear way.
- Serves as a repository for youth to look back on there years of community service, mastery of skills and leadership when they are applying for jobs or college!

This is a general record book is 2 front and back pages that all 4-Hers should fill out each year. 4-H Members enrolled in animal science projects must also complete the 4-H Animal Project Record.

Make sure your records are signed by the right people. Have your leader or parent check it over for you. Turn it in, on time, before October 30th to the 4-H Office.
