Lessons & Tools

RI 4-H benefits from a nationwide network of tested lesson plans in a variety of project areas. Some resources are available for purchase directly on the Shop 4-H or Ohio State 4-H Curriculm, while others are free to borrow by contacting the URI 4-H Office. 4-H Clubs and Groups also have access to our lending library of kits and equipment! Materials are listed on this Request Form.

Starting & Running a Club

To start a club, contact the 4-H Office. You will need to read the 4-H Club Leaders Manual and fill out a New 4-H Club Application Form. Then you will need to recruit members, here is an example Recruitment Poster.

As you start your club you can use the check list for new clubs and this FAQ sheet for communications to keep you organized. Make sure all participants in your club are registered and read the codes of conduct for members and the volunteers. We also have these resources to help you run 4-H events and empower youth at 4-H fairs.

Recognition

Working with Youth

Policies

Read about URI Cooperative Extension and policies. At the end of each year clubs have to fill out an 4-H Annual Financial Summary. Groups will have to fill out a group enrollment form.
