Biography

Hi! I’m Alison Krzyzek, Academic Advisor for UCAS Arts & Sciences majors here at URI. I earned my Master of Education in Guidance and Counselor Education from Providence College in 2020, and my Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University in 2009. My journey into advising started after several years in hotel and spa management, followed by a return to school while working full-time. Since then, I’ve spent over five years supporting students at Johnson & Wales, where I also taught First Year Seminar, served on the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action) committee, and created a free library for students and staff.

I love helping students discover what motivates them and encouraging them to explore all the opportunities available—from study abroad and experiential learning to campus involvement and support services. I believe in collaboration and connection, and I’m always excited to learn alongside my students. You’ll find me in Roosevelt Hall, Room 109—I look forward to meeting you and supporting your academic journey!

Outside of work, I enjoy camping with my husband, two sons, and our dogs, watching musicals and comedies, reading, and trying new things (like improv, ballroom dancing, and even a pageant!). I’ve also had the chance to travel to China and Australia during college, which sparked my love for exploring new cultures. Let’s connect—I’d love to hear your story!
