How to Become a UCS 160 or 161 Teaching Assistant

As an undergraduate teaching assistant in UCS 160 or 161, you’ll have opportunities to strengthen your academic, teaching, planning and mentoring skills by supporting other students in and outside of the classroom. UCS 160: Success in Higher Education and UCS 161: Becoming a More Self Directed Learner are 1 credit coruses that meet once per week. In the TA role, you would work closely with your section’s instructor on things like lesson planning, activity facilitation, and homework feedback. The position averages 6 hours per week at $16.00 per hour. Work study is gladly acccepted but not required.
