Computer science major Tyler Hanlon ‘23 interned at the Wearable Biosensing Lab.
“My internship has helped me to gain experience with cross platform application development and database programming,” he says. “We are working on an application to provide educational resources and a sense of community to dementia caregivers, so the work is extremely satisfying in itself. My great grandmother suffered from dementia. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to provide care to somebody suffering from the condition, especially when that care is coming from someone without training. The highlight of my internship experience has been being able to give back to one of the strongest, most compassionate communities out there. It would not have been possible for me to put as much time and effort into my internship had I not received the financial assistance which was so graciously provided to me.”
