Aria Winters ‘22, a double major in political science and criminology and criminal justice, interned with the Rhode Island State Government.
“We were sectioned into groups and asked to create a policy to present to the Rhode Island state congress,” she says. “My group focused on issues around homelessness and low-income housing. We designed our policy by evaluating the effectiveness of past policies and organizations. I believe I learned some key leadership skills since I was our teams’ leader. I worked with a group of people for weeks and truly learned how to professionally operate with a team. Also, I learned how to present an issue, in a timely manner, to a group of professionals.”
