Why did you choose URI and the English program?
When I first arrived at URI, I was undecided. I knew that I loved to write and wanted to further my education so I could get a better idea of what a writing career would look like. When I discovered that the English program at URI has a creative writing track, I was very eager to declare my major and start taking creative writing courses.

What is something special about the English program at URI?
Something special about the English program at URI is that everyone involved is extremely passionate about what they do. Although we are a smaller program, every single member of this community has a story to tell and a will to inspire others.

What are your post-graduation plans?
Immediately after graduating, I’m planning to work with publishing companies, copywriting, and editing. However, my ultimate goal is to publish my own work—novels and comics.

What is your favorite memory at URI?
I’ve made amazing connections at URI, and my happiest memories lately involve spending time with friends at extracurricular events or off campus. On campus, during my sophomore year, I lived with all four of my best friends, and I’ll always cherish the many chaotic memories we made that year.

What is something you would tell your freshman-year self?
“Commit to making decisions that will impact your life much sooner. Don’t leave things until the last minute.”
