Additional Resources
URI Research Foundation
The University of Rhode Island Research Foundation works with businesses to find real world applications for university inventions, and with faculty and staff to start companies with licensed technology as it works to maximize the economic opportunity for URI’s intellectual property portfolio. The URI Research Foundation also works to advance RI’s economy by connecting RI’s manufacturing extension partnership (Polaris MEP), and regional small business development centers (SBDC) to university innovations.
Polaris Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP)
The Polaris MEP offers on-site training and facilitation, one-on-one consulting and public workshops as it helps Rhode Island’s small to medium manufacturers achieve operational excellence and incorporate university innovations.
Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The RI SBDC at the University of Rhode Island serves local businesses in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Rhode Island and the greater business community. Whatever challenges and opportunities your business faces, the RI SBDC can help you to compete and grow.
Innovate@URI
