Biography

Qingyu Yang is an Associate Teaching Professor of Chinese and a doctoral candidate at the University of Rhode Island. Her professional background is in teaching Chinese as a second language and exploring the fields of blended Chinese teaching methods, proficiency-based teaching, second language acquisition and Chinese culture. She has received OPI and WPT tester training and has successfully completed official certification of OPI. She has presented at many national and international conferences and is the recipient of many national calligraphy prizes. In her academic career, Yang has taught different levels of Chinese at URI through beginning to advanced, and served as the academic director during summer and winter immersion programs.
