What is your responsibility as a 2019 URI Energy Fellow (i.e. what team are you on/where are you working)?
As a 2019 Energy Fellow I have been assigned to the Office of Sustainability on the University of Rhode Island campus. We focus on reducing emissions, collecting data, and educating residents on campus. To get the necessary results, there needs to be a strong relationship between Resident Advisors and the office. I plan to help develop positive marketing strategies and promote earth friendly innovations that are more efficient for campus residents. I am looking forward to earth day and seeing the community come together as more ideas are worked into creating a greener future. I am also excited on getting started on the green office program, which will ensure that an office space is taking big steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
What do you like to do in your free time? Are you involved in any other organizations or activities on campus?
I enjoy hiking, playing the ukulele and listening to music. I go surfing at the beach in the summer. I also enjoy food, specifically tacos and ice cream. I am involved on campus through my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, along with the honors society fraternity, The Omega. I am the president of the Horticulture Club I have to organize plant sales, trips, and propagation ideas to keep members interested.
